B8 PSP idle bump (aux input)

Post by jun1or »

I'm not a big fan of starting a new thread but I searched to no avail.

I'm using B8 PSP Power Steering Pressure switch as an aux input and noticed when I switch it on I get a bump in idle.

I would imagine this is by design from Honda. Can this be disabled?

I read that in release 1.4.1, the idle bump issue was resolved when using the A/C switch. I'm on 1.4.2 currently.

Maybe I should post this under "feature requests?"

That was a quick reply. Ah yes Australia.

I'm using it for secondary tables, but have previously used it for launch control. I'm actually in my car right now, so let me turn off all uses in hondata and see if it still bumps idle...

Yep sure does. 895 rpm with B8 off, then if I switch it on, it jumps to 1150 momentarily, then settles around 960. Nothing major I guess.

Thanks for the input, pun intended.

Mike

edit: can't believe I'm in my car logging and posting sitting at a gas station at 1:30am.

Stock position for the switch is "normally closed" for no power steer pressure.

If it gets annoying, just input it "normally closed" for the tables u use most for say everyday driving & tune your idle to that, then switch it "normally open" for second tables.
Thats if u are running a sort of economy/race setup on the tables.

Alternatively, just use another input & use the B8 input for something u use less often, such as launch.

Theres been a couple of requests to cancel this idle bump on B8 in the past, but doesnt look like its high on the hondata priority list.

Good info.

I wasn't aware there were other requests. Thanks for sharing fly_n, I appreciate it.
