This question is for Hondata.
I keep getting mixed information about the Over rev code that is set if the engine RPM exceeds the Over rev threshold.
What I want to know are the following:
1. If the engine was set to an over rev limit of 8300 RPM, and the engine was revved to 8400, the code is set to true. Where (if possible) can you go into Flashpro to see if that code is set?
2. If that code is set to true, how can it be cleared? Some say simply reflashing the ECU with another calibration (or same calibration) will clear the code, but there is no definite proof.
Thanks in advance.
Over rev code question for Hondata
This might be a stupid question, but...So let me get this straight, Honda has it set up so that if we "over-rev" they can see it with their scan tool, which would could then be used down the road to void a warranty, possibly?
What I'm wondering is does this count towards me changing my rev limiter? Let's say I'm set at 8500RPMs for my "rev limiter"...Honda of course is set to 8k stock. So each time I'm passing 8k is that little value being set to true? Or will that code be set true only if I pass my "Overrev RPM"?
I work at a Honda dealership in the aftermarket department, and through that I've dealt with our Honda rep. She is evil. She'll void a Ridgeline's warranty if they don't use Honda's ball mount for the hitch. Not the hitch itself...the tiny little ball mount that you slide into the hitch...So I'm a little concerned about my warranty. I have to make sure I bring the car in only when she isn't at our store, due to my mods...

im not sure if this is entirely true i installed a k24 in my fg when i went to start the car for the first time the crank sensor clip was not on all the way and i threw a few codes and one of them was over rev i looked up the code and it wasnt even for our vehicals but was an over rev code i cleared the ecu but the code stayed i cleared it a couple times and finally it went away.
Awesome, thanks for the info. I appreciate the fact that you guys have not only our "Flashpro" forums to look after, but many others as well. So thanks for doing all the hard work!Hondata wrote:We increase the over rev threshold along with the rev limiter, so you will not set the over rev code if you increase the rev limit over stock.
