Green light is for power red normally flashes during datalogging. Those are for normal functions I am sure there may be some other meanings for those LEDs. As stated are you having problems

Does the SManager state it is connected? check engine light on? is this the same laptop and USB cable. Sounds like car wiring issue or laptop related if it works fin in another car.

yes the smanager stated that it has been connected. Unfortunately, my check engine light is not connected to ecu. So it wont light up. But when i plug in my original ecu to my car. The car can start up. but not the hondata ecu. I try to figure out if there is sensor fault in my car. Do you think the hondata ecu is sensitive enough even in a mild sensor fault or wiring problem?

try pressing f10 to see if an error code pops up in the Hondata Window. My next question is which engine is your friend running and which engine are you running?
compare the 2 unless they are both identical engines in the same body style and the same wiring I am guessing there is a wiring issue. you may have something as simple as the MAP and TPS sensor switched I notice cars will not start like that, does he run a knock sensor and you not have one?

maybe you have a bad component like an igniter in the distributor has this engine been run before?

There are a ton of possibilities.
First lets start with try to press f10 once the s300 is connected to the laptop.

ok, put it this way. My car is civic eg 2doors with h22a engine in it. I have this mod:

skunk2 pro-series camshafts stage 1
skunk2 intake manifold
70mm throttle body
high comp pistons 11.5:1

The car run well with stock ecu except i have idle problem. This is the reason why i choose hondata s300 to smooth out the idle. Upon plugging s300 into my car. The car will be able to start up. I will able to smooth out the idle and run the car on road with this s300. Unfortunately, the car can only run for 2 days. The 3rd day i can't start up my car. I was thinking that there is s'thing wrong with wiring in the car. Then i try to plug my original ecu and it able to start up as normal. As a result, this lead me to think that the s300 ecu is damage,

so i try to plug in the s300 ecu to my friend car civic eg6 B16a, his car will be able to start up as usual. I was so perplex as to what is actually happen to my car and the s300 ecu. Ok i will try to check the sensor fault through my laptop. One more thing, What does the red and green light in the usb port at the s300 ecu indicate?

Lights indicate power and communication.
Pull your spark plugs tell me how black they are. You may be running too rich and fouling the plugs I had a similar problem with my B20 Vtec it would run one day but not the next. If this is the case I have to ask have you had the engine tuned or did you just smooth out the idle?
