Launch limiter for K

Post by sprinto7 »

I currently have a Hondata reflash on my RSX-S powered autocross car.
I use what I call the "Launch Limiter," (the built in ECU function that won't allow the engine to rev past 5200RPM unless the car is moving 18 MPH) to launch my car at SCCA Pro Solo events. Is the "Launch Limiter" truely disabled in the repprogrammable K ECU?
I'd sure like to have controll over this function for variing the launch RPM.
I love my reflash.
Thanks, Del Long

I did get an answer from a Hondata dealer. (Forward Thrust)
Launch control IS disabled in current reprogrammable units.
Launch control WILL be available at a later date.
I'll wait and get my ECU reworked at that time.
Thanks to Forward Thrust for taking the time to answer my question.

OK, I asked the dealer my question a different way. I asked, Does the K Pro use the VSS for anything other than the speedometer. The answer was, "Yes, if there is NO VSS signal to the ECU the ECU will go into limp home mode."
Limp home mode is what I have been using for my simple version of launch control. ie, car not moving, no VSS signal equals limp home mode, 5200 rpm limit.
I have ordered the K Pro ECU.
