Unique CEL issue when decelerating/S200

Post by see2k »

Hi,

Whenever I slow my car down by letting off the accelerator for more than 5 seconds, the CEL pops on. I check the code and it says its the Primary O2 sensor.

The Hondata is running in open loop with a disconnected primary o2 sensor. This problem happens at any speed ant any gear and it is activated when slowing down using the engine.

Anyone got any ideas?

I plan to reconnect the o2 sensor but i would have thought that disabling the O2 sensor in hondata would ignore the o2 sensor.

i've noticed that while my wbo2 is connected. but usually happens when it is a cold start. i turn off the key and turn the car back on and it goes away and doesn't come back. my car has been parked for about 2 months and just got it back running, so i'll see if it comes back. i updated my rom version, but i don't know if hondata has made a fix for this, but i know they fixed the 600mb hesitation.

turning the key to off and then back on does reset the CEL.

I think it has to do with the fact that the O2 sensor isn't connected. I will try that tomorrow.

I am at version 3.5.4 I was considering upgrading to 3.5.5 to remove some minor hesistation issues. I highly doubt though that it will fix this problem.

I think even though running open loop, the ECU is still looking for the O2 sensor. I get no performance hits and when I turn off and on the car, it goes away.

i finally got the cell. guess there is no fix yet... :( but i really don't think it should cause any problems. the logs that i have recorded appear fine with/without the cel. must be a glitch.

Are you getting code 1, or code 41? If its code 41, then you need to do the heater circuit fix described in the wideband O2 sensor tuning section of the tech articles. Disabling the Closed loop only turns off the O2 sensor "signal" code, and not the O2 sensor heater circuit code.
