engine cutting out at 5000

Post by tyrel.boyce »

I own a 92 civic si with a b18b1 turbo, it has the hondata s300 ecu and when i take off full throttle it goes good till about 5000 rpm then the engine just kicks off like it cuts all the fuel off. ive replaced my fuel filter and some fuel lines and the problem is still there.

its just a simple USB cable with type B plug at the ECU end,& most likely a type A plug at your PC end.
So just ask for a USB A to B lead.

Then just download a copy of SManager from here & install it to your PC.
then plug up your PC to the ECU,turn ignition on & done,u can now gather some info off the ECU,very intuitive software to use.
Would help if u could obtain an original copy of the calibration file on the ECU from whoever tuned it rather than download it from the ECU,in case it gets corrupted.when u try to download.

If u cant obtain the cal file & are concerned about corrupting the file than just try to pull a datalog off the ECU for now, showing the problem happening.

sorry dont know anyone in north dakota, but know a few people in sydney if u dont mind a bit of a drive....
