adjust the ignition

Post by ralf1 »

hello

i have tuned a EP3 K20 european Civic with turbo.

Now my Problem is, that i cannot adjust the ignition. when i datalog the ignition i have at full boost (11psi) in vtec not enough advanced ingnition.
When i change in the vtec ignition map it and add 5 degrees to the splitting so at the next test drive i have the same ignition.
clear, i upload first the new calibration.
what make i wrong?

Make sure you are editing the correct cam angle map. There are 6 separae High cam ignition maps.

You must make sure you are changing the High cam map for the cam angle the engine is running at the time you are seeing the need for a change.

i dont understand. i change the ignition at the vtec map. you see at 12 psi for example from 16 to 21. so 5 degrees more.
and when i do a test drive, the ign is real at 17 -19 degree at datalogging.

Please watch some of the training videos at http://www.hondata.com/techk-protraining.html

There is more than one map for ignition when vtec is engaged. There is one for 0,10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 degrees fo cam angle. If you are not modifying the correct table you will not see a change when the car is running because it is not reading from that table.

sounds to me like you should stick to B series tuning. you shouldnt be tuning other peoples big dollar cars when you dont even know what your doing , im astounded to be quite frank.

spunkster has easily and more than once answered your question , and it seems to go in one ear and out the other. hard to help those who cant be helped.

he told you that twice , lol , his first 2 posts. im sorry man no insults intended , just dont wanna see anyone have K series engine soup for a bottom end , haha. you can also make a base ignition map to start with by going to EDIT , create boost tables , click the dot on retard ignition____per lb of boost. put 1 in the blank if its a stock engine , click ok. it will adjust the map for you. than you can tune from there.
