Please check this log...wierd knock

Post by Hulk69 »

Hondata,

I think I've almost got this to the point of lasting me until I can get a proper dyno tune. I'm having an issue where my AFR is between 12.8 and 13.3 on my NA engine, but as I'm hitting red line, as soon as I lift off the throttle, I'm registering some knock. The AFR looks good right up to and right after where the knock occurs. Could you please check this and let me know what I need to do to remedy this? Also, am I street tuning correctly? Due to personal issues, I can't afford a dyno tune for another couple of months and I'd like to know I'm safe running this or if I can do something to improve it.

Thank you very much for any time you may put into this.

Knock is related mostly to ignition timing and not to Air Fuel.

I hear ya. But I've removed almost all knock by adjusting fuel. I'll soon get into the ignition tables, but I was wondering how the over all calibration looks. Is it pretty good or is there something else I need to be doing (as far as AFR's)?

Thank you for your reply!

Changing fuel is not the proper way to tune out knock. You tune your car for the proper AFR then you pull or advance timing according to knock.

Alright....thank you for your post, I'll be working on that this next week. Too much going on at work to mess around with it too much.

But my question still remains. Is the Cal and Datalog looking good for now or not? Can I damage my engine with what I'm running on right now? I would really appreciate any insight.

Would it help if I said, "Pretty please?"
