Can Kpro do this?!

Post by AT_RSX_06 »

I know its alot to read, so thank you for your help guys.

This is NOT my car this did NOT happen to me. A member on CRSX posted these issues...

My question is how did Kpro (hondata in this story) cause this problem. I ask because i was going to buy this members Kpro, untill i found this little story they posted. Im just trying to keep myself from getting ripped off...

---BEGINNING of 1st post---

Hi. i recently jumped time and had my 2003 base rsx brought to acura to fix.. i go to pick up my car and the car starts and revs to above 3k and stays there.. long story short i was furious, go back into the dealer and the mechanic claims he told me the idle was funky on the phone (thats not what he said) and that i need a whole new T/b for 700$!! why did the rep tell me my car was perfect to be pick up? i have two codes which are 0077 intake valve control circuit high and 0123 TPS Sensor High Input .. gas pedal is not suck and butterfly is not open. car is driveable but extremely annoying and bad because the clutch keeps burning because of high idle.. any help or suggestions will be appreciated... i really hate Acura Stealership!!

They said they had to put a new timing chAin tensioner new ecu and immobilized cause they said hondata caused the problem, and killd my iac and tps. The mechanic denied leavig any bolts loose (of course) my uncle is handling it For me because they billed his company so if anything there going to be dealing with a buisness.

---END of post---

Now how did Kpro do this? Was it actualy an faulty ecu, or did the dealership just blame it on the mod to release liability?

P.S.- My motor is a 2006 K20z1, his was an 03 K20a3, if that makes any difference at all on how that kpro'd ecu would run for me (besides no reverse lock-out)

Thank you guys

It wasnt Kpro i was worried about, but could this ecu possibly be faulty, creating the issues? Im bassically asking if i should buy this because there isnt anything wrong with it, or could this ecu possibly mess up my motor?

It would be a bad idea to buy something you suspect is faulty. You should just buy brand new to avoid possible problems.
