Help to identify ECU

Post by Touge Master »

Hi there,

I have a problem with one customer ECU.
I'm going to map a S300 for a 1998 EDM Integra Type-R and i want to be sure that the wiring (Lambda, methanol injection) is correct before start tuning.
The customer has bought the S300 from you but he doesn't know in with ECU is the S300 installed. I think he has a P73 EDM ECU and i suppose the ECU you sent to him is a P72 US ECU but he just doesn't know.
My customer is far away so i can't open the ECU to see the circuit in order to figure out what ECU is.
He has told me that the ECU has the following serial number.
37820-p06-a02740-754548
So, what ECU did you sent) P72? P06? Can you provide me a pinout for that ECU?

Thanks in advance.
Bets regards.

We don't send P06 ECUs. It sounds like he has purchased this from someone else since We do not sell directly. An OBD2 ECU cannot be used (P73). HE may have a non-vtec ECU. Which would mean you would have to use the alternate VTEC output with teh s300 and use a relay.

But a factory equiped P73 can use a S300 ECU with a OBD-II to OBD-I harness, can't it?

Thanks for your help.
Best regards.

Sorry, i think i haven't explained properly.

The car, EDM ITR is OBD-II, the question is:
With a OBD-II to OBD-I conversor harness, can he use the s300 ECU he bought (serial number 37820-p06-a02740-754548)?

I realize that, if the ECU is a P06, even if it works, the IAB system and knock couldn't be used.

Thanks in advance.
Regards.

A P06 is a non-vtec ECU unless someone has added components to the ECU the only way to operate VTEC is to use an alternate VTEC output with the s300 software and this requires the use of a relay.
