How to connected PRA w kpro to a D17a9 civic EM2?

Post by EM204T »

Well the site says what wires to switch and what to set in kpro wen you are
using a 01-03(narrowband) or a 04-05(wideband).
Wen i check my piount with the pinouts from a euro type R. all is the same
on just a few thing the k20 has more then a D17.

D17 - A08- Sensor VoltageReturn VCCR)
K20 - A08- Has no pin connected

D17 - A13- EGR position valve sensor (EGRP)
K20 - A13- Has no pin connected

D17 - A25- Has no pin connected
K20 - A25- Camshaft position sensor (CMP)

D17 - E15- Has no pin connected
K20 - E15- ELD for wideband datalogging

D17 - B01- Has no pin connected
K20 - B01- VTC oil control solenoid valve +side (VTC)

D17 - B07- Has no pin connected
K20 - B07- Reverse lockout valve (RVSLCK)

D17 - B14- EGR Valve
K20 - B14- Has no pin connected

D17 - B18- Has no pin connected
K20 - B18- Alternator signal (ALTC)

D17 - B23- Has no pin connected
K20 - B23- VTC oil control solenoid valve -side (VTC)

All the other wires are idential also in signal so how are wiring schematics
for the wirig of a euro D17 on a euro PRA ecu???
I am lost sind i check with guy from cpl and guy checked with you guys
and i was told i didnt need to repin anything. I now have a dead ecu
and they expect me to pay for a new ecu. WTF

This is not supported as the D17 should be run from a US or JDM spec ECU (PRB, PND, PNF, PRC or PRD)

ECUs for the D17 may be sourced from the following vehicles

2002-2004 RSX Base 5 speed (PND -A0 ECU)
2002-2004 RSX Type S 6 speed (PRB-A0 - ECU)
2002-2004 CRV 5 speed (PPA-A0 ECU)
2002-2005 Japanese DC5 Integra Type R (PRC ECU)
2003-2005 Japanese Civic Type R (PRD ECU)
2002-2005 Civic Si (PNF ECU)
2002-2006 Civic Type R (European) (PRA ECU)

only diff between a PRA and PRB is a PRB use a wideband sensor.
So if all is the same and a pra ecu is running 2 narrowband and my stock
d17 is running 2 narrowbands.

Its always this is not supported or not installed by hondata. If a PRA is not
supported why doesnt it say so? So i bought a ecu with kpro and just lost 1250 euro. support :?

The problem is not the ECU, but that your vehicle is not supported.

damn dude what is it.
spunkster says its because i need to use a us ECU
You says my car is not supported? what you do you men by not supported?
wth : do you guys have kpro for D17 or not? my D17 car is just the same as a US car!!!

PRA - PRB are just the same ECU except on de front wideband with a PRB

THX alot hondata for making me lose 1200 euro.!!!

The KPro-D17 is for US vehicles.

Let's start at the beginning. You need to confirm that your vehicle is the same as the US models which the KPro-D17 was designed for. To do this you need to get the wiring diagram for your vehicle and compare it to the wiring diagrams for the US vehicles, as there are several different configurations depending if a narrowband or wideband o2 is used. You will need the ETM (eletricial troubleshooting manual) for the US vehicle, and whatever the European equivalent of the ETM is for your vehicle.

Lol now PRA ecu is remvoed from the list on the wiring page! Also it doesnt say for us cars only. If this info was not know by guy from cpl or hondata let their shops know this info. then its because of bad info that my ecu is fried and who is going to pay that. but ok let start again.

I have a 04-05 civic coupe EM2, these car run in the us a stock front wideband sensor.that also what i thought till i wrote down the wiringcolor
to compare in my manual.

Result this is my wiring/pinout list: that look like identical to the US wiring
from a 01-03 civic coupe EM2 that is running 2 narrowband sensors.

You need to compare the wiring diagrams for the US and Euro vehicles, as outlined above. Comparing the ECU pinouts may not show differences in vehicle wiring.

dude if my manual says the wire color then on what pin its connected and with signal output/input i dont need to check all wiring because i know that
the same as the US one.
Look at the pin and you compare them and a PRA ecu should just work even
without a repin like you guys do on the site.

The right way to verify the vehicle wiring is the same is by comparing vehicle wiring, not wire colors and pin numbers. If you're not prepared to follow advice what is the point of asking us?
