K Pro reads ignition but no data at all.

Post by KseriesWeaksauce »

Like the title states, I connect my laptop to the ecu, connect the ecu to my car then turn the key. The k pro states that it reads the ignition says it is online and tell me to press f10 (or whatever) to data log. Only problem is when I press it nothing happens and I get no info at all. It seems I also can't load any of the preset maps either.

The usb drive is installed correctly according to the help page.
I have no idea what my serial number is.
I downloaded the latest version of the software from hondata.com
ECU is a PRB-A07
I have a k20z1 in an EM1 with a hybrid-racing harness.

Hopefully someone would be able to shed some light on the situation because the nearest dealer is not very close to me. Thanks for your time.

I need the K-Pro serial number. It is on the K-Pro board inside the ECU.

I downloaded the latest version from your website because the actual disc is in storage and would take me hours to dig out. V1-3-7

Go to Online, Tools and clear security, when that finishes, turn the kay off close Kmanager and reopen it, then load your calibration, turn the key on and upload it.

I cleared security but it didn't fix anything, now the car just runs like garbage. Most of the options (such as upload changes) grey out on me. This is very troublesome due to the fact that I was going to have a security system installed and now I can't because I don't want to drive the car. I don't understand why it reads that the ignition is on, says it's online then most of the options grey out on me. If I try to hurry and upload the map before it greys out it says upload failed about 75% through. Also when I turn the car off and then turn it on after initially connecting the ecu to the car it no longer reads the ignition being turned on. Or when I close K manager and reopen it same I could turn the car off and on a million times and it doesn't see it. I have to disconnect the computer from the ECU then then the ECU from the car then reconnect it all to get it to read the ignition again.

Try the ECU in a known good car and see if it works normally.

Because this is a highly modified engine swap, it could be anything. You really need to eliminate all variables and try this on a stock RSX or Civic SI.

What engine harness are you using and what transmission are you using?

The harness is from an EP3. The transmission is a NSN4 but I already have the hybrid speed converter. I recently tried again with a different laptop. I was able to go through the upload procedures as long as I didnt turn on the car although I don't get any messages such as "successfully uploaded" to assure that it was completed. As soon as I turned on the car everything greys out on me again and no data logging. It seems that once I turn the car on everything stops communicating.

This sounds like you are using non-resistor spark plugs
