cold and hot start issue....idle problem also...

Post by ejB18c »

i have a b20vtec...and live in The Bahamas..

the car has issues starting when fully cold...when i crank it over i have to give it about 3% throttle to keep it started...

do i just adjust the fuel trim untill it begins to idle well?

I have a hot start problem also....if im driving the car...fully at operating temperature...go to the gas station..turn it off...when i go to restart 2 minutes later...it will NOT start. I need to wait a few minutes and then eventually it will fire up after giving it throttle etc.

Car drives fine...air fuel ratios are fine while cruising and WOT aur fuel ratios are fine.

Just cold and hot start issues. When A/c turns on...car will idle very low and die also.

Thanks alot for any help!

You can datalog starting as long as you put it in the on position first and start the datalog.

No, the secondary tables have nothing to do with idle when tha AC is turned on. It actually sounds like more tuning needs to be done with this car to get it to run properly.

honestly...the car under partial throttle and driving shows perfect air fuel and drives smoothly.

like i said...i corrected the initial cold start up issue with adding 50% in the cranking fuel. yet still when the car is hot i have issues starting. I am going to look at the coolant temp when the car fully warms up and add more correction at that point...so that when i start...it will hopefully help with the hot start issue..

in regards to the A/C...i got it to idle...yet it is very weird...out of 5 times i turn on the A/C 3 times it will idle nicely at 14.0 and 2 times it will just dip into low rpms and die.

im very confused
