The problem I am having is the weak link on the harness, the male pin side of the harness that attaches to the factory engine harness. The damn pins are so weak I have broken 2 of them so far. The bind that the harness length causes eventually causes the pins to bend a bit and when they bend a couple of times they snap. I contacted Hondata to try to buy replacement pins to mend the harness myself but they outright refused to sell them to me. Since I am turbo charged and I am running the Hondata Boost control solenoid I installed a high/low boost switch which required me to use the E22 pin out. When doing this you are required to cut the wire to the harness or your brake lights will stay on when the switch is on. So I was able to use this pin for a donor pin to replace the damaged pin. I de-soldered the pin, cleaned everything up, replaced the pin and all was fine until it eventually broke again. I once again contacted Hondata and I was refused the ability to purchase the pins once again. So I was told that I was going to have to buy a new harness but to actually get them to sell me a new one I had to send in my old one so no one could copy their design of the harness. I kinda thought that was a shitty thing to do since I already had bought this harness and its now my property. I wanted to use this harness with a jumper to my stock wiring harness to be able to use the car until the new harness would get here but they refused me of these wishes. And on top of this, they want $250 for a new harness with me still having to send mine in. That is more than what I paid for the harness in the first place but I am at a point that I have no other choice but to do what they want. Then I started looking further, they charge $250 for you to convert an 02-04' Kproed ECU to the new daughter board and conversion harness so why would it be the same price for the harness as a full conversion??? I am not needing another Daughter board, I am not needing anything else other than a new Male pin for the harness!!!!!!!
Am I wrong in thinking this is kinda screwed up??? Doug, please pitch in and explain to me why this is costing me more than a new harness costed me in the first place and why I am required to ship you the harness I paid $150 for in the first place for the privilege of you selling me yet another one for an inflated price.
I have been a loyal Hondata fan and client for years and this is the first time you guys really let me down. Needless to say I am a bit disappointed in this whole ordeal.
Oh, and about the 02-04' Kpro conversion to the 05-06' Kpro I took the info directly from your website, please see below, tell me if my logic is skewed.
