fuel pump

if the key is on the number two ignition position, is the fuel pump always on? is this normal?

Well, it primes/builds pressure, and then backs off until you're cranking. After start, it's obviously constant on.
You shouldn't hear it continue to whir in 2 after a few seconds.

it shouldnt always be on but itll prime the fuel system till you crank it.
