Am I running too lean at WOT?

Post by brokenojoke »

Hondata S300 using PLX wideband. I'm at 5000ft altitude.
Stock 240 injectors/str fuel rail/aem adj fpr set to 38psi
Car is used for road racing

N/A B16a w/ CTR pistons/cams
Portflo head w/ flat valves
Neither head or deck has been milled
ITR intake manifold w/ 65mm STR T/B
2.5 cold air intake
Spoolin Header (only new mod to car since it's last tune)
2.5 inch exhaust

Here are two datalogs and the map. Shouldn't n/a a/f ratio at wot be about 13.0-13.5? On one of the data logs, I go hard through four gears from a slow roll.
On the second, I'm curising along in fourth I think and I just floor it at 5000rpm about till 8500 or so. Shortly after I let off the gas the cars ignition just died. I would push the throttle down as you can see near the end of the data log and the engine just wouldn't respond. I stopped on the side of the road, waited a couple of minutes and it started back up and ran "fine." Give me your thoughts before I make this thing go pop on accident.....

Here is my last dyno graph with the previous header. Sorry about the size.....

I would suggest taking it back to the tuner that tuned this or find a different tuner as it does not look like it was tuned properly.

bummer... quick question though

Wow, that's not what I wanted to hear. The car seemed to run "fine" with the previous header installed on it.

What specificly do you see that alarms you so I can inform the next tuner of why I'm taking it to them.....

You have a huge dip in power and your AF ratio is too lean under WOT.

too lean at WOT?

The dip was there before the new header, so that's definitely going to be addressed. It was sitting right at about 13.0 at wot with previous header. I'll add more fuel up top till I get close to that a/f ratio again. and hit the dyno and adjust timing to get the dip out.

Thanks for the reply spunkster...
