Problem with Idle High

Post by k_boi »

hey wassup guys, I'm having a problem with the idle, Its extremely high 1200-1350 rpms. Played with the IAC in hondata but would not change anything. Tried to play with the timing table to see if it will drop and o change. I do have a 68mm TB on a ported skunk2 manifold could that be my problem?.. any suggestions anyone..

Unplug the idle valve. If your idle is higher than 400 rpm then you have air leaks and need to fix them.

How is your throttle cable routed? Are there any sharp bends? Does the gas pedal seem to be "stiff" when you step on it? Did you buy the TB new or used? Did anyone set the TPS correctly to .4-.5 volts closed? Did you or anyone mess with the set screw under the throttle wheel (where the cable attaches to)?

Check these things first before you start messing with the software.

Im running the itr cams yes, its stock. Every bolt on is brand new. Nothing wrong with the cable, tps, screws... It has to be the software because I cant adjust the IAC settings..

If you cannot adjust the IACV settings and get results from adjustin ghtem, you either have an air leak or yor IACV valve is not fuctioning properly. Remove the valve and connect power and ground to the 2 pints and see if the solenoid inside moves. If it does not, try cleaning it and if it still does not move replace it.
