Can't View or Edit Settings

Post by gottabfast »

This evening I downloaded Smanager 1.4.1 and now I can't open or edit "settings" for any of my calibrations (I get an access error). This morning I could when I had 1.3.8...I've installed/reinstalled 1.4.2 twice already

The error I get says "Access violation at address 0042BA06 in module "smanager.exe". Read of address 00000158." Also, I have Windows Vista if that helps. I can't view the settings for any calibrations, not just the ones I wrote.

Anyone have any experience with this error?

When does the error occur? When you select 'Settings...' from the menu?

yes, after I click "settings". It hesitates, then the error box comes up.

Is it something I did? I went back to an older version and everything works fine...I'm gonna tune the car off this older version for now, but please let me know if you find anything on this error or if it was something I need to change.

Sorry, missed your reply.

The problem is a value in the SManager configuration file. If you delete this file, then the default values will be used and the problem should be fixed.

With Windows XP the file is:
C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data\Hondata\SManager\SManager.ini

With Vista the file is:
C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Hondata\SManager\SManager.ini

If you can't see the file then Windows is hiding it from you and you'll need change 'Show hidden files' in the folder view options.

If possible, email (support@hondata.com) us the SManager.ini file before you delete it, and then we can track the exact problem down.

Thanks! I'll try it this morning and get you the .ini file this morning as well.

It worked! I can now view and edit settings in 1.4.2 as normal! I sent the smanager.ini file a few minutes ago.
