newbie s300 questions (99 civic si/ex)

Post by drummerdude »

Hey guys, I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to engine management and hondata, I have a couple questions I hope someone can answer for me.

Q#1) what, if any, functions will I lose going from obd2b ecu to an obd1 s300?

Q#2) in the display of the Smanager, do I need to buy an aftermarket a/f / lamba contoller/gauge to see the a/f in the display?

Q#3) is there a way to see oil pressure and oil temp in the display? if so what do I need to do to hook it up?

thanks for the help.

Q#1 - You won't loose anything but the OBD2 scan tool compatibility.

Q#2 - Yes you need an aftermarket wideband and controller to be able to datalog proper AF ratios.

Q#3 - http://plxdevices.com/sensormodules.html You can use the analog inputs in the smanager software.

one more question:

is it possible to see, and datalog egt and a/f while using the analog inputs for oil pressure and oil temp?

basically is it possible to hook up oil temp, oil pressure, egt, and a/f using plx modules into the s300 without losing any other functions?
