Problem with my 96 civic...

Post by Snoop666 »

I just got a 96 Civic LX, and just started tinkering with it. It's (basically) bone-stock, except for cold-air intake, aftermarket exhaust, advanced timing, the basics. A friend suggested/offered to change my stock intake manifold with one from a Civic Si he had lying 'round in his garage. We did. My questions: Will it make a difference and how much? Will it cause problems? Any more modifications I can do with my car? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

The SI intake/throttle body probably is a slightly bigger diameter. Like the cold air intake and exhaust system, bigger diameter means less resistance to air flow, so the engine will breathe easier. Its safe to say though, that you didn't feel much increase in power with any of these mods, this is because the stock engine can breathe fairly well with the stock setup

But as modify the engine the intake/exhaust systems will need to have this better flow. If you want to seriously increase power consider an engine swap
