Part throttle hesitation H22a

Post by prelude_stealth »

Hi guys,

I don't know if someone could cast their eye on my datalog.

Basically, right after the installation and tuning of the S300, I got a part throttle hesitation crop up between 2k rpm's - 4.5k rpm's.

Now it doesn't happen continously, but in that sort of rev range, the problem seems to be apparent. High revs, the car accelerates no problem at all.

I have included a datalog when the problem happened, could you guys see anything out of place?

Car is a 95 Honda Prelude 2.2 VTEC - standard.

So far I have replaced all ignition components with no joy. :(

Cheers
Kel

Can you please post the exact time stamps in the datalogs you are experiencing a problem? Also post your calibration.

Hi,

In the first attachment (misfire_run_gear1), the event happened between 3.140s-5.313s

I mean looking at that graph, is there anything obvious that anyone experienced can see?

Unfortunately, I don't think my tuner wants to give me the calibration for some reason.

On the misfire_run4 file, my TPS is smoothly increasing, so is the RPMs, so is the VSS signal, and the ignition, but for some reason, the inj(ms) and duty drops out? between 7-12 seconds on the graph.

If your tuner will not give you the calibration it sounds like it is time to find a different tuner, especially when you have a tuning problem. I cannot make out anything from the datalogs.

From the first datalog, Ignition took a nose dive from 29 degrees advanced to 2 degrees advance as the TPS was rising in at 2000rpms. Duty cycle was steady. Check the ignition maps and compensations. Your tuner needs to retune. Also you AFR was way richer that it was supposed to be in the area datalogged.

Second datalog, YOU REALLY NEED A DIFFERENT TUNER! AFRS way too rich. Do you have your wideband hooked up to the S300?

In addition, download your current tune from the S300 and post it up. Go to the "Datalog" tab and click "download from ECU". Save the calibration then post it.

Thanks Crucian i will do that and post it!

I haven't got a wideband (yet) unfortunately, i solely rely on my tuner as I have no experience with ECU tunings as of yet, but learning.

I will post up the calibration (didn't even know you could extract it from the ECU) for you guys to have a quick look see if anything's out of place.

Thanks a lot!

The only thing that doesn't look good to me is your timing map. everything else looks good according to the datalogs.

oh, any advice on the ignition timing maps? so nothing obvious from the map that would give me this problem?

Only thing i should mention is the fault doesn't happen all the time, it's very intermittent :(
