Hi, I have a '06 S2000 Vortech V-3 SCi kit with the Hondata
reflash, the IAT sensor is located at the compressor discharge,
I'm going to an Air to Air intercooler (road race) and wanted to
reposition it after the intercooler.
Will the relocation benefit the tune by seeing colder air charge
and increase timing? In theory, it should...
However, can you please confirm?
Thanks

S2000 Effect of IAT repositionning Vortech/Hondata reflash.
Thank you very much for the prompt answer, I was under the impression that may be the IAT values could be locked in the tune for whatever reason and moving the sensor wouldn't provide any benefit.Spunkster wrote:it's not so much about power, but it would be best to relocate it to the charge pipe as close to the throttle body as possible. This will allow the ECU to give the proper compensations for the real temperatures the engine is seeing.
***Will probably go with a dual nozzle Water/Met (3GPH total) kit on top of that, switch activated for hot days...
Cheers
