Download Calibration from ECU

Post by WickedOne »

As the topic states .. When you download a calibration from the ECU, you recieve a warning message stating "it is recommended to load a file as opposed to downloading it" If you proceed to download the calibration it gives you a message to check parameters etc. what are the type of changes or effects you have seen by downloading Cal Vs. Uploading ? File Corruption ?

The newest versions of software are better at downloading calibrations, but it is still recommended to upload calibrations that are on the laptop. The s300 is not able to hold more than one calibration. If you upload to the ecu whatever calibration that was there is over written. Disconnecting the battery has no effect on the calibration in the ecu.

Sorry to bring up this thread.
My situation is, I tried to download from the ecu to my laptop and error prompt shows. It shows multiply prompts just like internet ads spams n smanager hanged.
Used laptop's task manager to forced shut down smanager.
Tried few times n same thing happened again n again.
After quite a numbers of tries, it finally worked n got the calibration download to my laptop.
QUESTION IS, will this corrupt the calibration in the ecu? I did no changes at all.
Car still start n idle but didn't drive it yet.
just wanna be sure.

If you have not uploaded it should not alter the calibration in the ECU.
