Verification of ECU usage...

Doug and co., I just want to verify if the ECU I have in my possession will be able to be utilized for KPro for my '07 S2000. In the past, I had KPro in my old DC5R when I lived in Japan and my daughterboard fried twice before so I purchased a new/used ECU from a seller in Japan. I was told at that time that the ECU could be KPro'd it would just not have all features available. The ECU in question is a PRC-J01, the 5R Integra ECU which has an immoblizer unlike the previous 2 PRC ECUs in the non face-lifted Integras.

So basically I know the nitrous ability is nil with the PRC type of ECUs, not a concern for me at all as I would never use it anyways, but I'm just worried if the immobilizer can be bypassed to be able to be used as the KPro ECU in my S2000.

I will be arriving stateside this coming Saturday for a company conference and then also another week of vacation and would really like to get this ECU KPro'd and my current flashed ECU changed up to work in conjunction with the other ECU. And basically the only other thing I should need if doable is the primary 02 sensor from the RSX-S or an aftermarket one used as a replacement, correct?

I've scoured over the KPro area of your site, but it makes no mention of the different PRC ECUs which gives me a small hope and the fact that I received an email from Doug long back stating that the J01 is Kproable. Just uncertain if it will definitely work in the S2000 application.

Looking forward to hearing back good news as I don't really want to spend the extra $500~600 to get a brand new PRB ECU when I spent $400 on this ECU in the past and it is just a dust catcher right now. :)

Spunkster thank you very much for that answer,:D looks like I will be going KPro within the next 2 weeks. When I touch down in Vegas I'll be sending the 2 ECUs off to you guys.

Nevermind, I just found the specific form for the S2000 06+. :)

Though my question still arises about the VIN #. I have no way of acquiring that information at this time, since I am in Vegas and my car is in Guam. Do you guys by chance have a database? I had my stock ECU reflashed 1 year ago, so maybe you have that information already at your disposal.

Please let me know if I can proceed sending off the 2 ECUs and paperwork without my VIN #. Sure hope this will not be a snag. :(

You must provide us with the Vin, this is for verification purposes and we cannot give you the information. Your insurance card should have your Vin on it.

Thank you Hondata. VERY fast turnaround. Sent it off Tuesday morning from Vegas and got it Friday evening here in Atlanta. I was worried when Evans Tuning called my sister's house and left a message for me to call them. Gave them a ring and it turned out that I guess you guys weren't able to find my information about the reflash done last year. Then came home and seen FedEx tried to deliver, I thought it was possibly the O2 sensor I ordered, tracked the # online and seen it was from Hawthorne and was pleasantly surprised. Thanks again. 1 more week here in the mainland and back to Guam and able to tune the car.
