temp gauge stopped working with kpro

Post by honda crazzy »

car's being going fine for months. all of a sudden the temp gauge stops working and the e-brake light stays on. nothing was tampered with.
kpro does show the ect value but the gauge doesn't.
multiplexer window is as it always was - normal mode

What has changed? If you wish, clear security and re-upload your last calibration but if nothing else has changed then it sounds like it is a cluster problem.

just found that 1 of the plugs behind the instrument cluster was abit loose in the socket.
the reason - i was on the hunt the other day for that anoying buzzer(key- in-ignition buzzer) so i had the cluster out and probably never pushed the plug back in hard enough.
i found that the buzzer is on the circuit board of the instument cluster and can't be removed.
anyone know how to get around that?

thanks anyway hondata for that prompt response!

There is a switch near the ignition key. From memory if you unplug this then the beep beep beep stops. Be careful you don't unplug the immobilizer transponder by mistake. Check your headlight warnings still works if you do this too.

yes it's a green plug, but it's got 5 wires on it. the beeper does stop when i unplug it, but surely those other wires are there for something else. i do not have immobilizer(jdm dc5)
do you think i should unplug it anyway?
on another note - please tell me what plug gaps hondata used when they dyno'd the boosted K24 cal's.

You'd need to look at the wiring diagram to see what the key sensor is used for.

For low boost (10 lbs & less) we use stock plugs & gaps.
