D16A9 OBD0

Post by Andros »

I'm about to turbo an old 90 civic and saw that I need the OBD0 to OBD1 connector and use an OBD1 ECU. I also saw that I need a new dizzy and 02 sensor, and I was wondering why do I need these parts?

I mean, on another d16a9 engine (on a later model) which had an obd1 ecu as stock, had no o2 sensor and the distribuitor is the same as the one on this civic, I just used a p28 s300'd ecu and everything worked ok...

You must have all OBD1 parts for it to work. OBD0 parts will not work as they are not compatible with an OBD1 ECU.

But, if I don't change the dizzy, I wouldn't be able to alter the timing, and that would be it, am I wrong?

If you don't change the distributor, you won't be able to use the OBD1 ecu or the Hondata.

Ok, got it.

Would this distributor work?

And I'm guessing that the extra wires that the obd0 to obd1 harness has need to be routed to the new dizzy (thru the firewall)?

Is there a wire diagram for that harness so that I check what the remaining cables should be hooked to?

Thanks!!!

Your harness should have instructions that came with it, if not contact the manufacturer of the harness.

You will have to contact the company selling the distributor to make sure it the one you need.
