K-Pro Revs Output not registering on the tachometer

Post by Mambosasa »

Hey all,

I wonder if someone here can help me out. I have recently converted my Lotus Elise and installed a K20a engine.

I took the route of purchasing a K-Pro ECU and all is working okay apart from having issues with the revs showing up on my tachometer. I believe that my gauges are expecting something like 2 pulses per revolution. Is there a way of checking this on the ECU?

Thanks in advance.

You can plug in a laptop and verify the rpm as read in the ECU, but if the engine runs then the ECU must know the rpm.

Check your wiring. The rpm signal is from connector E26, usually a light blue wire. 2 ppr.

Hey,

Indeed I can confirm that from the laptop, I can see all revs registering on the ECU. I have checked for continuity on the wiring and no issues there.

I guess what I wonder is do I need to do anything to push the output out of E26? And secondly, can I change the output pulse to specific value that is understood by my dash console?

Thanks in advance.

The E26 output is generated constantly by ECU hardware - you can't switch it on or off.

As far as I know the E26 output is 1 pulse per spark.
