Question on wiring to a European EP3

Post by sCorpse »

Hi there!

I got myself a used Hondata ECU from a JDM PRD unit from a 2004 EP3 (Civic R).

I drive a European (GB make) 2002 EP3.

Now i want to switch the ECU with the Hondata ECU which i?ll get soon. I?ve read about the wiring to do to get things working and have questions.

I know that i need a broadband lambda because the UK model has only a narrowband lambda built in, so i ordered a BOSCH LSU 4.9.

First question: Is that the correct lambda and will it meet the requirements for the Hondata ECU. Lambdawindow on this lambda is from 0,65V - infinite.

Second question regarding wiring:

The wiring instrucion on hondata.net sais, i have to connect A22 to the A2 connection. Well, A22 is a unused slot in the UK version harness. Do i have to make a new connection from the unused A22 slot to the A2 (which seems to be pretty hard to do with big fingers) or are there other ways to get a switched 12V to the ECU?

If not, could please provide a how to. I don?t have special crimping tools which would make things even harder for me.

Third question: SMOG test! I think i will fail the smog test with unplugged secondary o2 sensor, right? Do i have to find a good ground point and connect it to the E4 slot to keep my sec. o2 sensor up and running?

Lots of questions, I know. :-)

Thanks for your time!

For this type of question, you will need to contact a UK dealer such as CPL racing since they have experience with this type of conversion.

hi

to your question about this....

you can use A2 or A3 for suply 12v to A22 and for the negative for the wideband lambda you need to use a wired method, not ground, the metter method is using the E4 wire

scheme for not used the secondary lambda:

internal shunts for keep the original harness:

scheme for use the secondary lambda:

this is my information about the adaptation, very very extended and you can do it without modify your harness: http://www.foroctr.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=489

this works good on a PRB, I think the PRD is the same scheme as PRB

if the admin of the site wants this in English, I can post it goodly for all you
