AEM Boost control solenoid, Creates a boost leak?

I'm running an AEM boost control solenoid controlled by my S300. I noticed that at idle the port with the sintered bronze filter is hissing = vacuum leak. I've got it hooked up exactly like the hondata diagram and it's plumbed so 100% duty cycle is full boost. If I crimp the vacuum line my idle drops and the hissing stops.

I guess my question is, Do I have to run the solenoid where 0% duty cycle is full boost? (I thought this overheats the solenoid) Has anyone else noticed this? The filter is on the center port.

if the solenoid is NC, then 0 % DC I think would be 0 boost?

do you have an external or internal wastegate?

external tial with 4lb spring. I can set the solenoid up nc or no. It's set up nc right now, so 0% duty cycle = wastegate spring boost.

Edit: We set up our solenoids NC. The port connected to the manifold / bottom of wastegate should be blocked until the solenoid is energized. It sounds like you have the ports around the wrong way.

fixed the problem, thanks. Found a water leak in the intake gasket while testing.

Ok, Setting the solenoid for NO operation fixes the vacuum leak problem, but now I can't get it to control boost. Max boost all the time. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how to set the duty cycle/ psi tables for Normally Open operation? Mods, if this is considered a new topic, I'll start a new thread.

Put it in fixed duty, then change the value 10% at a time until you get in the general area of your target pressure. then make smaller adjustments. Take note of what each duty cycle yeilds for pressure, then fill in the table. Once the table is complete, switch to boost by gear.

Don't forget to make sure you have your boost cut set, don't want anything blowing up.
