TSX K-Pro Questions
TSX K-Pro Questions
I'm looking to get K-Pro soon and have a few questions:
1) On the TSX K-Pro page, is says to use a D17 Civic O2 sensor. Can a 02-04 RSX O2 sensor be used instead? Why was the Civic O2 sensor chosen vs. the Civic O2 sensor?
2) On the TSX K-Pro page is also suggests to use a VTC from an RSX/Civic Si. This allows up to 50 degrees of CAM advance. I've seen other info that suggests it is safer to Machine your existing VTC to allow up to 45 degrees just in case your mis-shift or over-rev.
I have an Automatic tranny though, is this not an issue for me?
3) I currently have a Comptech SC with Stock Injectors and a crushed FPR. Do I need to swap back to a regular (un-crushed FPR) if I want to run K-Pro or hi-flow injectors?
Thank you for all of the help,
Kenny

Re: TSX K-Pro Questions
Keep your crushed FPR. A little extra fuel pressure helps in a force inducted vehicle, and you tune for exactly the fuel pressure you have.
I've changed my mind on the VTC mechanism and changed the web page to read 45 degrees max. Reason is is that we have lost the measurements we took when we disassembled the TSX engine several years ago to measure valve to valve and valve to piston clearance. We know 45 degrees works perfectly as I have been using it daily for several years.
Leave modifying the VTC mechanism until I have determined the cam angles a supercharged TSX needs. That will be this week.

Nice to see you over here too Rex!
There's already a TSX Base cal out there. It was created/tuned by LoCash on his dyno.
Here's the thread on it:

i propose to get the K-Pro first or both at once.
with the k-pro and the new cal you will have some more fun with your car.
after the SC installation you'll surely need the K-Pro to tune it properly.
in my opinion there are 2 sollutions:
a) buy the K-Pro now and use it
b) save as much money to buy both things at once. this will allow you to tune your car properly and receive the highest power output.
best regards Luke

is there any issues to use a differnet MAPsensor with the tsx Kpro? I want to use a 3bar mapsensor.
I read on you website:
"As there is no communication between the stock ECU and K-Pro, the status of the cruise control and air-conditioning, under control of the stock ECU, is not conveyed to the K-Pro."
Does that mean that AC is not working?
