Code po118 and o2 sensor at 10.70

Post by sharper »

Here is my setup
K24/K20
ITR cams
JRSC - Aftercooled - 3.0 bp

Just finished installing the motor and the "ECT voltage high" code P0118 pops up, reading 124 degree ECT staedy.

My a/f is reading a steady 10.70 as well, not functioning.

I have checked the ground at the valve cover as well as the grounds at the battery (one to thetranny and one terminating under the fuse the under hood fuse box). I replaced the O2 sensor during the install and tried the old sensor with the same results. I did not splice into the harness at all, except for a new IAT sensor which seems to be functioning fine.

What could it be that is affecting both sensors?

So it ended up that the ECT sensor was not plugged in correctly, when plugged in, all is working. Out of curiosity, why are the ECT and O2 sensors connected like that with the ecu?

Fingers crossed.

The ECU will run in open loop if there is an error with the ECT sensor.
