Tomorrow I'll be buying a K-pro off of my friend. He totaled his car, so its sitting at a collision center and we'll be doing it there. The car runs and there is nothing wrong with the motor/ecu at all. My question is if i just took the kpro out of his car and put his stock ecu back in, would the car run at all? We're trying to get around the whole swapping the sensors there because it looks a little more involved than something you do in the grass.
Also, if not, do you have to remove the oil pan to get to the crank sensor? Thanks for the help.

I was hoping it would atleast run in some sort of limp mode just to get it home. We endud up just pulling the sensors off his motor and leaving it there without them. Thanks for the reply.Spunkster wrote:No, it will not run with the wrong sensors and yes you must remove the oil pan to get to the crank sensor.
Now to figure this thing out :D
Edit: I just tried and the car will run without the crank sensor installed(stock ecu) for future reference. You just get a slightly erratic idle and a CEL. Im not sure about the TDC sensor, but i doubt it will run without both.
