12psi stock map sensor?

Post by JPsi02 »

So what actually happens if i try to run 12psi on my stock A3 map sensor? Will it just top out at 10 or so? and i will be stuck with the single columb of tuning ability sense its not reading the real boost? I mean i have a boost gauge anyways.

I also have a 94 civic with a turbo Z6 on S300 that is also on the stock 10psi map sensor but can run like 15psi without breaking a sweat its just hard to tune sense it sticks at reading 10psi lol. I just want to know if my ep3 will act the same way or if it goes haywire and fuel cuts (i would raise boost cut) or what exacly goes on?

I plan on getting the hondata 4bar map when i get paid but i want to race someone in the next couple days and id rather be at 12psi then 10 lol.

The map sensor will just stop reading past 10 or so.. Technically, you could just set your 10psi load columns for the desired fuel/spark delivery for 12 psi, but then again, doesn't it make more sense to do it right?
