hondata s300 ECU red light error!! please help!!

Post by imratedpg »

- the calibration (as an attachment)
'prelude' calibration found with any Smanager software.
- what sort of vehicle you have
93 EG HB + 97 JDM H22a
- what sort of ECU you are using
OBD1A + Hondata S300
- anything about the car which has been modified from stock which may affect the ECU (don't include what sort of rims you have nor stereo etc).
completely stock besides 1. air intake and 2. 2.5" exhaust. running no AC or PS.
disabled: 1. vtec oil pressure switch, 2. Knock Sensor, ELD, O2 Heater,
- a specific description of the problem

As you can see in the datalog, the ecu throws an error code, code 7 TPS sensor. can you please tell me whether its the TPS itself, its physical setup or wiring?

the car drives perfectly, like a normal car..even when that tps error code is thrown and the MIL light is on its perfect...

thanks in advance.

you need to read the TPS at closed throttle, then again at 100% throttle. The values in the boxes will change and reflect the new calibratin of the tps. Chances are it will not be a perfect 0% and 100%. Just randomly reading the TPS position without doing as nI stated above will make the ecu read the wrong values o the map, and it will run very poorly under throttle.
thank you, thank you, I'm here all week

thanks ALOT martian :D . kudos to you although i figured it out by reading the help manual lol.

Can you analyse the datalogs and base map to find why the s300's red light is on ?

cheers

i have no idea martian. I never calibrated the injector size, they're still the same as the prelude base map.

I have no idea what size injectors they are, i presume they're stock jdm h22a ones. if oyu tell me the method to physically finding the injector size i'll do it and get back to you.

thanks for looking btw.

my injectors are OBDII saturated injectors and are rated at 290cc according to the following websites: (the engine is a 97 JDM H22a from a 5th Gen SiR)

The red light is because you have enabled on-board datalogging. All other issues are tuning related. I highly recommend disabling the onboard datalogging, unless you are trying to record something specific at a specific time and get the car tuned on the dyno by a professional (does not have to be a Hondata dealer).

the only tuners i have around me are AEM tuners and they mainly and probably only have experience in tuning nissans, holdens, fords etc.

If htere was a tuner who was reliable in town, i wouldnt be on this forum.

anyways, can you please analyse the datalog and determine why my TPS is doing that and how to rectify it?

also can you tell me if the datalog is "normal" and just give me general feedback on what you think.

thanks in advance.
cheers.
