Spunkster, why couldn't a table be built in smanger to utilize the vss for this purpose? all that would be needed is the ability to set a baseline reference. You can do this without knowing tire size.

There is a vast difference between an analog input that is just a voltage and a pulsed input such as the VSS. The ECU does not have this ability.

I'm not talking about using another sensor though. Just a conversion on the vss signal itself.

Turbotyper, I've been thinking about this a lot the last couple of days. I know this is kind of a PITA, but you can rescale the vss graph to match your RPM graph, and look for discrepencies. Problem is youd have to rescale the vss graph for every gear. But you should see a peak in rpm and a flat on the vss if the clutch were slipping.
