Kpro signal problem

Post by brody8877 »

I recently installed kpro on 05-06 RSX Type S. I have the adapter harness and everything for it. Everything is plugged and etc. I am not receiving full signal from the ecu to my laptop. On KManager it detects the ECU, it display the model and serial number, but can not pick up any other data or signal from the ecu. I check if there is 12v ignition power to the ecu, apparently there is. Can someone help me out? Im a bit stumped.

The only suggestion I have is to check that you have the most up to date USB drivers for KManager. Other than that it seems you have somewhat of a working connection. Also check to see what color the LED is flashing on the side of the ECU with Key On Engine Off. If it is flashing red there is a problem with the ECU.

Do you get 'Ignition On' when you switch on the ignition?

-02-04 Base RSX with 05-06 Type S Swap (engine, harness, body electrical, fuse box, relay, fuel pump, and sensor except for o2 which is require from an 02-04)
-Kpro 05-06 kpro Serial # 6385
-Problem: Does not receive full signal when key on position II, it only display Kpro unit and serial number nothing else.
-Green LED light is on when it is plugged in, no red blinking LED.

Wow kudos to you for such a hard conversion. I can imagine what it must have been like. Well a green LED is a plus.

Do you still have the 02-04 wiring? A swap using the original vehicle wiring would involve only changing out the transmission case, which you could have pulled off the original A3 transmission, or purchased for less than the cost of the 05-06 adapter.

Anyhow, get the ETM for the 05-06 Type S and start tracing wires. First look at the ECU IG1 circuit and then the main relay. Your (first) problem is that the ECU is not sensing ignition on then therefore no switching the main relay on.
