It could be the 12V applied to the Vss, or re-pinning the 05-06 harness to an 04 ECU, or the swap adapter harness. Work through each wiring change and don't discount multiple problems occuring at once.
i accidently put power to the 12v power wire(Yel/red)on the vss n then came that burnt wire smell went inside the car and tried to turn the motor on and nothing happened...unplugged the ecu and opened it up and this is what i found
BTW it would help if you followed the posting guidelines and mentioned all pertinent information.

most likely it is the 12v applied since the smell came right after that but i will run through everything to make sure...is this something fixable ??

No it is not fixable. The K-Pro would have to be replaced and your ecu may also be damaged and need to be replaced. Before you do anything you need to make sure that whatever caused this has been resolved. Since you have used the product in a way in which it was not intended, you may have a number of problems with wiring.

i expected that....i dont think anything was wrong with any of my wiring but i cant say im completely sure.....like i said before everything worked fine except for the vss due to the 06 tranny ...other than that all sensors worked fine and i was able to load a base map and drive the car but you never know ...any chance that the ecu itself may still be good if the fuel pump still primes when i turn the ignition on?.......also both the green and red light stay on when i hook up the laptop to the ecu then when i turn the ignition on both lights turn off....??

Based on your posts, it is a pretty good bet that both the ECU and K-PRo are damaged and cannot be repaired. For us to look at it would be $100 for diagnostics, the replacement K-Pro would be $250, and you would thne have to supply a working ECU and the charge to install the K-Pro would be $150. The total for all this is $500. You would have to call and obtain an RMA number if this is what you want to do.
