K20A3 + RBC intake mani + PRB kpro?

Post by themutt »

I have a manual Base 05 RSX. My friend locally plans on selling his Kpro and will do payments with me which will save me a lot of cash, my question however is as follows:

Can I use a PRB kpro Modified for the 05-06 and adapter harness and a RBC intake Mani and run well on my 05 K20a3 or would it be better to not run a kpro?

I know there are some issues with the 05-06 Base RSX and the Kpro wiring harness and I also am aware that running a PRB ECU with no duel runner support will cause a loss of power. My question is more with the RBC and a good tune would it be soemthing I could work at to make decent numbers with my base?

I know its a common question and I am sorry if this has been disscussed to death however I have yet to hear many 05-06 base users with the wiring harness useing kpros let alone type-s krpos.

You should use a PRB ecu for a Type S and a PND for a Base. You will not have secondary runner control with a PRB ecu.

I'm possibly uninformed however the Type-S RBC intake manifold does not remove the 2nd runners? I am not the most engine savvy I just try to retain what I have read on other forums...

If you are not using a base manifold, then it should run it ok for you.

Thanks for the prompt responce, I assume using an 05-06 PRB Kpro with harness on an 05-06 Base RSX k20a3 is untested and unsure as to what problems I could have?

The speed sensor is different from the S to base, and I believe that the speedo will always read a few percent out.
