Hi all,
I had my JDM EP3 ECU K-Pro'd recently and am experiencing weird immobilizer issues. After playing around, and trying a few of the supplied basemaps, i noticed the engine will start only if i disable the immobilizer. Keep in mind i'm using the original ECU, so it should still be matched to the transponder. Theoretically, i should be able to enable the immobilizer.
Could the ECU-Transponder link have been lost after the ECU was K-Pro'd? I'll take the car to a dealer if i have to, i just find it a bit odd. And i'm concerned the local dealer won't be too keen to help as my EP3 is an import, and they have already told me that "they don't do imports".

Immobilizer question
The most common problem when setting the immobilizer is not completely switching the ignition off after updating the ECU and before starting the engine.
Some of the early JDM cars did not have an immobilizer (it was an option). If you don't see a flashing green key on the dash then you don't have one. You can also check that there is the transponder around the ignition switch barrel.

Hondata
Should have mentioned that i certainly did switch off the ignition after updating. I think i tried everything other than re-installing Windows and K-Manager :(
And i might even give that a go...
I certainly do have the immobilizer option. Not sure about the flashing green key (i'll have to check), but i do simply have to press the button on the keyfob to make the engine start.
Ahhh... and then it hits me - could it be that i simply have an aftermarket immobilizer fitted?? ... Suddenly it makes sense... When i bought the car i was told the immobilizer was factory option but the seller may not even have known for certain... Good call about checking for the presence of a transponder, but i'm not sure what it should look like... I'll have a look as soon as i get to the car.
