interface box randomly shutting off

I've got a p28/stage 4 that works flawlessly on my 94 del sol ls/vtec

my friend has a 96 hatchback that he also runs a p28/ stage 2 system on. his car will randomly shut off the interface box and stall. the light on the box will just go off with no rhyme or reason. well anyways.. i tried to plug in my system just to see if it would work properly and sure enough it didn't. any ideas as to why it would just randomly turn off? he's running an obd2 distributor that was known to be good and an obd2 to obd1 conversion harness that also worked on another friends car.
it briefly flashed a few codes in hondalogger, but none were saved and the CEL on the dash never came on.

Sounds like a wiring problem in the car that is cutting power to the ecu.

i agree, but what such things would cause the ECU to shut off like that?

A25, D1 and check the +5 output or ground in CN2.

Those are suggestions. A25 is the main power, D1 is the another supply, 2 pins in CN2 supply power to the interface box.

Or you can check all the wires? It's easier to check the first 4 wires.
