Car is a 01 Australian Delivered DC2R
Hondata unit was changed and resoldered from a obd2b connector to a obd2a connector. Previous owner claims it worked fine on his car for the 6 months he had it (im skeptical).
Last night I got my car tuned and on the dyno we didnt have any problems.
I took it for a test drive after the tune and without the laptop. After driving for around a minute and doing a road test the engine light came on and the call just started to engine brake and eventually switch off.
Tried it a couple of times and the engine light would come on and the car would just switch off.
We plugged the laptop in to see what was going on and as soon as we did the ECU ran like normal and had no problems whatsoever. But as soon as we unplug the Laptop from the S300 it would throw the engine light and switch off again.
We left the car sit for a while and tried starting it up again after about an hour or so and we let it idle for a bit so that it would get up to operating temperature (whether this made a difference or not im not sure) but after warming up the car i took it for another test drive and low and behold it worked fine. No engine light no engine braking was smooth all the way home and this was with cruising and testing the car.
Then all of a sudden this morning i go to start the car up again and after about a minute of cruising engine light comes up again and the car bogs down and switches off.
I need help ASAP on what this problem is.
