Knocking at Lower RPM

Post by tamazoid »

Hi I was wondering if some experts can take a look at my tune... I had a local shop dyno tune my car almost a year ago...

I'm still using the same tune. But I've noticed that my engine knocks during heavier throttle at lower RPM(between 1800-2200rpm). But it feels total fine at higher RPM...

So I'm hoping that someone can double check my tune and datalog? Let me know if a simple street tune would fix it, or would I need to get it dyno tuned again. That would be very helpful! Thanks!

try this , looks like you need some part throttle tuning done , its not that bad though.

Hey cranny! Thanks for the fix! It's a lot better now! It still knocks slightly, but barely... Thanks!

just a little question.
i am not offense to the tuning or knowledge, i just don't understand why the fuel table for table 2(full throttle, vtec table), different column will cross each other and not smooth? i know different engine have different tuning n i did see some tuned map look alike.

can anyone explain, i am confuse, i through the table should look smooth and won't going up and down crazy

Yeah your right. They shouldn't overlap like that and need to be smoothed out.

I think cranny has only altered the timing though to stop the knock looking at the 2 kal's.

Hey! Sorry, I don't understand what's wrong with my tune? I don't really understand what I'm looking at... So there's something I should get fixed?

Are you guys talking about this area?

Yeah man. Those should be curves, not spikes. They shouldn't overlap with the above or below lines either.

Is it better that I Mickey Mouse the calibration myself compared to what I have right now? Just so that the lines don't cross? Or should I just leave it for now get it dynoed again later? Thanks!

here , load this on there , and do a WOT datalog , 2500 rpm to redline. keep an eye out for lean conditions ok , very important , if it runs any leaner than 14.5:1 during said run , let off and come back with whatever datalog you got.

Ok great! I'll give it a try... But no guarantee it'll be anytime soon. It's been pouring rain out for a while! So 1st and 2nd gear will be useless due to wheelspin... 3rd gear might work, but I'm just afraid of cop hiding somewhere! Cause the speed limit is only 80kmh or 50mph... But we'll see...

end of 3rd will land you at 140 kph. but you will only be there for 5 seconds , lol. dont load that map on there until your ready to datalog.
