J-Series ECU Tuning

Post by Bond007 »

Hey Hondata,

What's up with some much needed ECU tuning support for the J-series motor? The 3rd gen TL owners need your help!!! We have all the bolt-ons imaginable and no way of getting a real plug and play tune to get the most out of them. I'm going to loose it, if I have to read one more thread about how intake A has massive gains over intake B on a TL forum!!! Give us something new to discuss. There has to be some untapped potential in the J-series.

I know you guys did some development on the TL a while ago for a couple of CA guys. So being the premier ECU tuning company for Honda, how about dusting the project off and supporting the TL? Any information you have would be greatly appreciated.

We need something to market like UpRev for Nissan/Infinity to be developed for Honda/Acura...

I agree. There is a HUGE demand for a workable, worthwhile tune for J-Series motors. Just get on AcuraZine.com and look at the issues EVERYONE has when trying to find something to tune with, whether it be TLs, or CLs.

I have a 2002 TL Type-S, and everyone on the 2g TL side feels the same way. The Apexi NEO has minimal gains, and our ECUs override them in about a week. Both the N/A guys, and the FI guys need something!

You guys are the most reputable as far as Honda tuning goes, and you can't do anything for us??

Thanks 02 Type-S for the support! Sorry I didn't even think to look at the 2G TL forums or I would have included you guys in the OP. Makes a stronger case for everyone!!!

definantly. Im interested in doing a fully built NA j series swap into my EM1 but the only thing holding my back is tuning for it.

Does hondata have any plans in the future for releasing something for the J-series motors?

its not as easy as you guys might think. they first will have to test multiple ecus to see if they can even make anything to work with it. so far alot of K series ecus are not tunable and is the reason why you need the jumper harness and another ecu. then they also have to write the software to go with the engine in question then do hours of testing for bugs and glitches. then they have to do countless hours with different ecm's and motors to make sure they can get there product over a large quantity of the J series. Im sure hondata has looked into this fast growing new engine swap and they will release something in time but all i can say is you will have to wait and be patient.

i understand with all the work they have to do. Im just curious if they are working on or are going to work on something for the j-series, or if they are not going to bother.
