ecu repair

Post by effingturbo »

so i'm about to buy a 94 civic with a k20a3 in it.....so the guy i'm getting it from says it's running a hondata ecu...(i think it has kpro cause it has the usb connection)...but the problem is that it only revs up to 2500 rpms....he says he thinks the ecu is fried i guess it smells like it...and i was wondering what i would have to do to get it repaired and about what the cost and turn around is....does it go through hondata or do i look for a dealer..thanks for the help

If the ecu is damaged, then it would have to be replaced. We cannot repair damaged ecus. More importantly you need to determine what caused the problem and fix that as it will just damage another ecu if you do not do that first.
