Professionally Tuned - False Knocks?

Post by edhgreatone »

Alright guy here's the deal I was n/a for a while now I just got a brand setup here:

-ctsc 5psi stock injectors
-obx comptech clone race header
-05 exhaust
-injen CAI

... here's the deal.. i'm in the process of being street tuned by a very reputable tuner and we kept getting these random knocks he would go in and fix the knock and it would come up again... we were originally running a 20 ignition and we brougth it all the way back to 9ish to see if knocks would go away and nothing there still there... so I tried to fix problem double check everything in engine did a new oil change, double checked the grounding wire, injectors good, flush radiator engine coolant, spark plugs good, everything seems to be running great with the engine a/f great across the board... i've heard of ghost knocks and this kind of stuff not being uncommon I just want to verify this before I continue tuning I don't want to do any damage to my car... please help!!!

if its always happening in the same areas , and it wasnt happening before SC , id say its false knock. your rnuning like next to nothing for timing and its still knocking so. check your valve lash is one suggestion as knock sensor can pickup alot of stuff and register it as knock.
