Ignition Advance Help

Post by crazbiker4 »

Hey Guys,

I was wondering if anyone had some tips on tuning WOT ignition. I read/ watched all of the Hondata stuff + other information on the forums.

Or if anyone new of some good write ups.

The reason why i am asking is because if i take out some advace during Part throtle tuning in columns 8/9 and sometimes 7...for when i push one the gas in 6th...then if i were to advance 8-10 for all rpms then would i still get the knock i had from partial? If i do in that area or another can i just tune it out and advance in other locations?

Mods are Injen CAI and Cheep cat back Exhaust

Thanks,

Joe

you must look at your datalogs and see where it is knocking and remove timing from that area of the map.

But your saying its ok to add advance to 8-9 even for WOT even though i took it out for part throtle tuning?

Thanks!

8,9,10 is WOT not part throttle.

Part throttle is usually 3-7

If your going into 8 and 9 you are throttling too hard.

If you pull ignition from those columns cause you got knock then don't put it back in.

Ok! Thanks for the response.

I think the other reason i get knock is that i think i am a little lean...around 13.5-7 ish in that area.

What is a good way to tune 8?

Thanks,

Joe

Take it to a dyno with a wideband.
