Code 45 ( to rich/ to lean) will Hondata fix that problem?

Post by turboedsi »

i have a 2000 civic si, with a GReddy 18G turbo kit on it. My fuel management is VAFC, Missing link and Vortech FMU 4:1). I have tuned my car a lot and i still get the code 45. IS there a way to get rid of that code? would Hondata be able to Solve that problem?

With Hondata s200, what options would i have to get so that i can run my car good and not have any problems? I will be boosting 8psi daily and 10psi at the track.

Also, if i get Hondata will my car be 100% tuned? compared to right now im having problems with throwing codes?

One last thing, Are there any Dealers, installers, Tuners in the Phoenix, Arizona area? Just wondering, because i was thinking about getting this product, but i dont know how to install, and dont know of any tuners that could tune this product for me.

Thanks for your time and hope to hear from a Hondata tech soon.

Hondata or any other system/component will not simply bolt on and tune your vehicle, but Hondata can be a valuable tool and make it easier to tune. As far as 100% tuned goes, I don't think that's achievable...day to day variances in temperature, barometric pressure, humidity, etc. make your car run differently.

As far as ditching the code 45 [fuel system too rich or too lean], I would check your fuel delivery system.

When you installed the turbo, did you put bigger injectors in? larger fuel rail? fuel pump? If not your pushing all that air in and theres not enough fuel, which will cause the motor to lean. If you did upgrade it, whats your fuel pressure regulator pressure at? I wouldnt drive the car too far with it running codes. If it is leaning out, the fuel helps cool the pistons, and if you are in fact running too lean, you could melt the pistons. take it to a good shop with a dyno, and have them tune it. A hondata ecu will not magically take all your codes away, and tune the motor it self. You have to get the hondata ecu tuned too. :P

if u are running a 4:1 air fuel ratio that would cause an extremely rich mixture so that might be your problem unless u ment 14:1 wich might be a little lean
