Hi!
What difference will I experience if I set MAP value with throttle full closed at 1kPa vs 10kPa?
Pls advise. Thanks.

1. Hondata recommends setting the MAP value with throttle full closed at 1kPa but my tuner sets it at 10kPa. What difference will it make if I set it back to 1kPa?
2a. My engine has bad idling and cold start issues. Mechanic and tuner blame it on poor vacuum. After engine is warmed up, engine runs fine.
2b. What could be the reason for poor vacuum?
2c. How can I improve the vacuum?
I have an EK9 engine will Wiseco 81.5mm pistons, Type-R conrods, Toda C2 cams.

1. It doesn't matter..its tuner's preferrence.as default, follow what Hondata recommends.babybenz wrote:Spunkster,Spunkster wrote:I don't understand the question out of context.

2a. tune your cold start..no vacuum issues here coz it runs fine when temps are up to operating
2b. poor vacuum coud suggest your intake system has a leak..or if you engaged VTEC very low in the rpm range, it could cause a huge vacuum drop since your introducing too much cam overlap at low intake air speeds
2c. look for leaks in your intake tract..
Hope this helps..Goodluck!

thanks for your reply.
problem is even when engine is full warmed-up and when i on the air con, rpm dropped to very very low and whole car vibrates...
how to check for leaks from intake manifold? any tool I can use?

Spunkster,
As requested, here are what u need:
1. the calibration
attached
2. a datalog of a problem
i got problem attaching the file. any idea why? is it becos file is too big?
3. what sort of vehicle you have
eg6 with ek9 engine
4. what sort of ECU you are using
S300
5. anything about the car which has been modified from stock which may affect the ECU (don't include what sort of rims you have nor stereo etc).
wiseco 81.5mm pistons, dual valve springs, stock ek9 conrods, toda c2 cams, toda cam gears, toda timing belt and flat-bottomed valves
6. a specific description of the problem
a. poor cold start,
b. when on headlight during cold start, rpm dropped to below 500
c. when on air con during/after cold start, rpm also drops
d. i tried moving the slider to the right during cold start which helps but the rpm hangs as a result.
