USB problems

with my ecu plugged in and the ignition on my lap top isn't reading it like its not even plugged in. i followed the steps in the USB troubleshooting help and when i am in system devices and go to USB devices it doesn't show that hondata is plugged in. i have the 32 bit vista and i updated my USB drivers and it worked for like 5 min then went off line again. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks

Can you try this with another laptop?
