Problem to remove 8000rpm rev limit

Post by Rolle »

I have a PRB ECU with K-pro in my supercharged K20A2 Lotus Elise.
I have a big problem removing the 8000rpm rev limit. It doesnt matter that i change the setting in K-pro to 8800rpm or another higher value then 8000rpm. It doesn´t work! If I change to lover rpm limit, like 7000rpm it works. Really strange. I have checked in the logg and it´s not the boost cut or something else that are cutting the engine. It reacts like a rev limit. It´s seems to me that the original rev limit still is there and not able to remove it.

Please help me out here.

The OEM limit is 8600 so that is strange.

Oh! It is on the PRB ecu´s?
I think on the euro Type-R (PRA) it is 8000 or 8200 rpm. The engine and harness is from an euro Civic Type-R. The ecu is from a RSX.

No the Euro EP3's are 8600 if I remember right. I used to own a UK EP3 and sure it revved to 8600.

Do you get any error codes?

Hello again,

When I look at the log file it seems be cutting at 8100rpm as you mentioned gangaran. I attached the log file and also a copy of the calibration file. Please take a look and see if you cand find something.

Thats not what it looks like on my datalogs when i hit boost cut. You'll notice that even after you hit 8.1k the injectors are still working at 13ms and they don't drop down untill after the TPS starts coming down. When i hit the limitor in my car the injectors turn off, and the injector duty and duration drops to 0 while the TPS still reads full throttle or 102%.

But I don´t think I´m reaching the boost cut. My maximum pressure is 10,1 psi. And my boost cut value is set to 10,5PSI. And this doesn´t feel like a boost cut. It feels just like a REV limit cut. Boost cut is more dramatic. Hmmm...

This is more than likely a problem with the spray pattern of the injectors you are using. Use RC 650s and you will eliminate the problem.

OK, you think so? Are the 550 to small? It´s just strange that you can´t see in the log any sign of knocking or the engine running lean? So if I would go for bigger injectors, what would you recommend, 650 or 750? I am thinking of convert to ethanol later on.

Just so I understand this right. What is the difference in the spray pattern between 550 and 650s? Are the 550s to small?
